Craft Shop

Twillingate Museum and Craft Shop promotes traditional arts and crafts through the sale of locally made handicrafts and through participation in provincial arts initiatives. Many of the items found in the Craft Shop have been hand-made by crafts persons from Twillingate or other regions in Newfoundland and Labrador. Mat Hooking Workshops have attracted individuals to the historic Twillingate Museum and have ensured the preservation of traditional techniques. Embroidery, quilting, mat hooking, carving and scrimshaw demonstrations have also been hosted whereby local crafts persons display the workings of their craft to the public. Visiting craft conferences have toured the Museum and the exchanges resulting from these tours have provided both residents and visitors with new ideas and inspiration.
